The actual forum speakers will begin at 6:30 pm. Features: Army veteran Aimee Allison and activist editor David Solnit, authors of Army of None: Strategies to Counter Military Recruitment, End War and Build a Better World; and Navy veteran Todd Dennis, Wisconsin coordinator of Iraq Veterans Against the War. The event is free and open to the public.

With enlistments down and no end in sight to the illegal U.S. occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, the military has stepped up its recruitment efforts, especially among lower income youth and people of color. Recruiters often offer flase promises of opportunity while minimizing the risks to those who enlist. Concrete community-based efforts to counteract this are growing around the country. Speakers and Allison's book Army of None, is a recently released hands-on guide to stem the flow of young bodies as fuel for the war machine. This forum is for all hose looking for a meaningful way to get involved to oppose U.S. illegal wars, including parents, educators, teachers and especially students.

In addition to the Forum on Tuesday, Sept. 25th, there will be a free Direct Action Workshop with Aimee Allison & David Solnit on Wednesday, Sept. 26th, in the cafeteria of MATC downtown, 211 N. Pentagon generals who later went to work for the very same corporations
