Nonviolence Training

As the occupation of Iraq continues and as the Bush Administration ramps up threats against Iran, we think about what we can do to speak out strongly against the illegal and immoral actions of our government. We think about what we can do in opposition to the violence our government relentlessly pursues.

Madison Pledge of Resistance is committed to ending the occupation of Iraq, utilizing the nonviolent practices and disciplines of Gandhi and King through nonviolent resistance.

Madison Pledge of Resistance is planning an action of nonviolent civil resistance that will take place in Madison in November. This is an action where some of the people in the group will choose to follow their conscience and risk arrest. We need many people to be involved in this action in order for it to be effective. Not everyone involved in the action will be risking arrest.
