This thought-provoking, 170-minute, BBC documentary will be aired in three one-hour segments on three successive Wednesday evenings: Part 1 on Oct. 18th; Part 2 on Oct. 25th; and Part 3 on Nov. 1st. All showings will be at the Dardanelles. This compelling film caused a firestorm in England last fall, overturning all "conventional wisdom" aboaut the so-called "War on Terror." Director Adam Curtis traces the intertwined stories of neoconservatives and radical fundamentalist Islamists over the last 50 years, and how they have symbiotically stoked the "Fear Factor" to cultivate a myth: that a hidden highly organized Islamist terroist network is ready to strike at any moment. While Curtis doesn't deny the possibility of fresh terrorist events in the future, he questions why our leader embrace and reinforce this particular threat.Curtis's rigorous analysis is augmented by rich archival images.
