Opt-Out Form Leafletting at Madison East and West High Schools

At the end of September, The Madison School District will divulge the personal data of area high school students to The Armed Forces unless the students or their parents fill-out a military opt-out form. Join MAPC in an opt-out form leafletting demonstration that encourages East and West High School students to have their names removed from the military recruiting list. Time is running short, and we believe many parents and students have not received the military opt-out form. Please help by leafletting in front of these schools before it is too late!

Over forty million people in this country have no health insurance. Many individuals in this country who have health insurance get denied necessary medical procedures due to 'pre-existing conditions'. Many more citizens are required to pay deductibles that cost up to tens of thousands of dollars for major operations . The United States has a health care program that overall ranks below some developing countries and far below most industrialized nations.

The time has come for a single payer reform to the current health care structure. The current system penalizes poor and sick individuals. A single payer health care system is the only proven method of health coverage that includes everyone, is cost effective, and does not rely on the profit motives of insurance companies.
