A workshop for those in despair or resignation about the war in Iraq
June 30, 2005 7:00 pm Madison Senior Center, 333 W. Mifflin St.

Women are socialized to be compliant & agreeable, to protect everyone's comfort zones. Dinnertable conversations kept safe, nicely avoiding religion and politics. We find it hard to bring up controversial subjects on occasions when people meet.

The WOMEN'S INT'L LEAGUE FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM - Madison Branch calls upon everyone to disrupt the business, social, family, organizational and political agendas of the day to compel the community to talk about the oil wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and go on record for peace.

Motions must be made in every forum and at every table to formally demand that the troops come home now; to reject the use of tax money to militarize civil society and to desecrate the environment in the imperial search for oil.
We will find expected and unexpected allies at these forums and tables.

Polls have consistently shown a majority of Americans are against the war and want peace, but fear to speak out, or don't know what action to take.

Join WILPF & Friends JUNE 30, 7:00 at the Downtown MADISON SENIOR CENTER, 333 W. Mifflin St. for the workshop “Interrupting the Agenda – Women with the Courage to Disrupt.” The workshop will use role playing, conversational ploys and training in organizational procedures that take advantage of the moment to explore ways and means to disrupt. The event is free and open to the public.

Keynote speaker is Sandy Silver, WILPF National President.

The struggle continues! The peacemakers will prevail!!
